Changes that look like better teeth, not like dental work.
They want the chipped front tooth fixed, the grey filling gone, the gap closed, or their teeth to stop looking tired in photographs. All of that is routine here.
The goal is a result that suits your face, your age and your other teeth closely enough that nobody can point to what you had done.
Most people who ask about cosmetic dentistry are not asking for a Hollywood smile. They want the chipped front tooth fixed, the grey filling gone, the gap closed, or their teeth to stop looking tired in photographs. All of that is routine here.
Dr. Saman Sajid is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has spent over a decade doing this work in Santa Clara. The goal is always the same: a result that suits your face, your age and your other teeth closely enough that nobody can point to what you had done.
Tooth-coloured resin sculpted directly onto the tooth in a single visit. It is the answer for a chipped edge, a small gap, or a worn-down front tooth, and it is the least invasive and least expensive cosmetic option — usually no drilling of healthy enamel at all.
Thin custom-made shells bonded to the front of the teeth. Veneers correct shape, shade, chips and mild crowding all at once, and they resist staining far better than natural enamel. More on veneers →
Often the only thing a smile actually needs. Whitening is done first in any makeover, because crowns and veneers are colour-matched to your teeth and will not change shade afterwards. More on whitening →
When a tooth is too broken or heavily filled for a veneer, a full ceramic crown restores both the strength and the look. With CEREC we can design and fit it the same day. More on one-visit crowns →
Straightening the teeth you already have is frequently the most natural-looking cosmetic result available, and it preserves your enamel completely. More on Invisalign →
Dark amalgam fillings show when you laugh. Bonded composite or ceramic restorations look like tooth and bond to the remaining structure rather than wedging it apart.
You tell us what bothers you — in your words, in the mirror or in a photo. There is no right vocabulary for this and you do not need one.
Photographs, X-rays and a bite assessment. Cosmetic work fails when the bite is ignored, so we check how your teeth actually meet before designing anything.
Usually two or three routes at different price points — bonding versus veneers, for instance. You see the full cost before you commit to anything.
Health first, then alignment, then colour, then shape. Skipping that order is why some cosmetic work looks wrong within a year.
An honest caution: if your gums are inflamed or you have untreated decay, we will fix that before doing cosmetic work. Beautiful crowns on an unhealthy foundation are a waste of your money.
It depends entirely on which treatment you need — bonding one chipped tooth is a fraction of the cost of a full set of veneers. We give you a written treatment plan with exact costs before you commit, and we offer CareCredit financing for larger cases.
Purely cosmetic work is generally not covered. However, much of what patients want is also restorative — a crown on a cracked tooth, or a filling replacement — and that portion is often covered. We will identify which parts of your plan qualify.
Bonding typically lasts five to seven years before it needs refreshing, veneers ten to fifteen years or more, and crowns similar. Longevity depends heavily on whether you grind your teeth, which is why we check for it.
They should not. We match the shade, translucency and surface texture of your natural teeth. The most common comment our patients report is that people notice they look well, without knowing why.
Yes, and it is one of the most common things we do. Matching a single front tooth to its neighbour is technically the hardest work in cosmetic dentistry, and it is worth having done properly.
Bring a photo of a smile you like. It is the fastest way to tell us what you are actually asking for.
