Straighter teeth without announcing it at work

Dr. Sajid is a certified Invisalign provider and has treated Santa Clara patients with clear aligners for years — including many adults whose childhood braces relapsed.

You see the projected finish digitally, with the full cost, before you commit to anything.

Invisalign moves your teeth using a series of clear, removable aligners, each one worn for about a week. Dr. Saman Sajid is a certified Invisalign provider and has treated Santa Clara patients with clear aligners for years.

Straight teeth are not only about appearance. Crowded teeth trap plaque in places floss cannot reach, and a bad bite loads some teeth far harder than others — which shows up years later as cracks, recession and jaw-joint pain.

Why patients choose aligners over braces

  • Nearly invisible. Most people will not notice you are wearing them across a meeting table.
  • Removable. You take them out to eat, so there is no list of forbidden foods.
  • Easier to keep clean. You brush and floss normally instead of threading floss under wires — a genuine advantage for gum health over an 18-month treatment.
  • No metal, no wire irritation. Nothing to scrape your cheek or need an emergency visit when a bracket pops off.
  • You see the plan first. The digital treatment plan shows the projected finish before you start.

What Invisalign treats

Crowding, spacing and gaps, mild to moderate overbite, underbite and crossbite, and relapse after childhood braces — which is one of the most common reasons adults come to us. Severe skeletal bite problems are better handled by an orthodontist or with surgery, and we will say so if that is what we find.

How treatment works

Consultation and scan

We check that your teeth and gums are healthy enough to move, then take a digital scan — no putty impressions.

Your digital plan

You see the projected movement and the estimated number of aligners, along with the full cost, before committing to anything.

Wearing the aligners

20 to 22 hours a day, swapping to the next set roughly weekly. Out for meals, coffee and brushing; in for everything else.

Short check-ins

Brief progress visits every six to eight weeks. Most of the work happens without you sitting in a chair.

Retainers

Teeth drift back for the rest of your life if you let them. A retainer at night is what protects the result you paid for.

The honest catch: aligners only work while they are in your mouth. Patients who wear them the full 20–22 hours finish on schedule; patients who leave them in a napkin at lunch do not. It is the one part of the treatment we cannot do for you.

How long does it take?

Simple cases — minor crowding, or relapse after old braces — often finish in six months. Most comprehensive cases run twelve to eighteen months. You will get a realistic estimate for your own teeth at the consultation, not an average.

Common questions

Cost depends on how much movement your case needs — a short cosmetic case costs considerably less than full comprehensive treatment. We quote your exact case in writing after the scan, and many dental plans include an orthodontic benefit that applies. CareCredit financing spreads the cost monthly.

There is pressure and tenderness for a day or two with each new set — that pressure is the teeth moving. Most patients describe it as noticeable rather than painful, and switching aligners at bedtime lets you sleep through the worst of it.

A slight lisp is common for the first few days while your tongue adjusts, then it disappears. Reading aloud for ten minutes a day speeds that up considerably.

Take them out for anything except cool water. Hot drinks can warp the plastic and coffee, tea and red wine will stain the aligners, which rather defeats the point of clear ones.

Call us. Usually you go back to the previous set while a replacement is ordered. Do not skip ahead to the next set on your own — that is how teeth get sore and treatment stalls.
